SUMMARY: Humans love labels.
LABELS
Humans love labels. Nothing, it seems, can exist without having a label stuck on it.
Not even me. My name – the promise I made to myself – is slapped in front of my alias, and hey, presto! Instant label!
I refused to give my traveling companions a label. Being overwelmingly human, I figured they'd come up with their own.
And they did.
Companion. Associate. Partner.
But to me, one description was more accurate than any, and that is what they became in my hearts.
Friends.
