He could still hear the echo in the back of his mind. The call of a demon that never completely left him, but one he learned to control. Had to control, or the whole of time and space would burn like the heart of a living sun. Burn through him. There was only one man who could stop a force such as he would become if he gave in to the voice, and it was the man who chose every day to resist the siren call of the three words smoldering in the recesses of his thoughts.

The Doctor's inner struggle against his own potential evil is something that I always adore seeing more of, so thank you.

Also, the purist drabbler in me is absurdly happy to see '100' as the word count for one of these. Heck, even my own entry for this challenge didn't even come close to hitting the 100 word mark.
