Oh gosh, I thought it was going to be something cute and silly until I reached the "1990's. Just outside Leadworth" and my heart has not stopped aching since... This hurts so much, but in a fond way. The setting is so beautifully written, lyrical and intriguing, inspiring quietness indeed. And the Doctor of course is being the mythical wizard he always is, except we get to see him behind the scenes with his assistant having little patience for his secrets: Clara's characterisation was spot-on, going from annoyance to compassion. The pacing and buid-up was excellently executed, really efficient, all in short, to the point dialogues until the explanation. It makes it all the more beautiful. And yes, the Doctor doing this for Melody, the thingies being from Darillium of all places, and the brook having such a name in contrast to the River... Oh, it is a bit too much for my heart. So beautiful and nicely crafted. Thank you for sharing!
Favourite line: People the Doctor knew always had a ‘somewhat’. *snorts* This is perfect. The needed comic breathing room after a heavy part.
