Title: 'Solace'
Author: Dancingsalome
Rating: Teen
Characters: Nyssa, the Master (Ainley version)
Words: 2,152

Why I'm Recommending this: It is by turns scary and bittersweet, which makes for a surprisingly perfect blend.

Summary: Nyssa dreamt about her father, night after night.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'Just for Fun'
Author: Laurus Nobilis
Rating: All Ages
Characters: Donna Noble, Shaun Temple, Eleventh Doctor
Words: 1,154

Why I'm Recommending this: I love Donna, and what happened to her was devastating and unfair. This is a lovely piece of closure for her.

Summary: Donna finds a way to make people (and herself) happy.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'And There He Kept Her Very Well'
Author: IrishVampire13
Rating: Teen
Characters: (AU Dark) Eleventh Doctor, Amy, Rory, the TARDIS
Words: 1,952

Why I'm Recommending this: Because I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's one of those where I was lucky enough for it to all fall into place with practically no effort. Plus, I love exploring the possibilities of Eleven going dark and evil.

Summary: Damn Amelia Jessica Pond to the worst Hell the universe could contain.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥
but_can_i_be_trusted: from the Wayne & Shuster 'Art Gallery' pantomime sketch (Polar Opposition)

Title: 'Binary Collapse'
Author: IrishVampire13
Rating: Adult
Characters: Eleventh Doctor, Clara Oswald, the Master (Ainley version), Mr. Clever, the Doctor's Ganger
Words: 14,566

Why I'm Recommending this: Because it is very damn hard to write 14,566 words in only one week! I'm not sure what possessed me to try to tackle something that large in such a short time span (aside from the fact that I'm one of the most stubborn people you could hope to meet). But it worked (somehow), and hopefully all the stresses and strains and rushing involved don't show in the finished product. I'm proud of it, at least. :)

Summary: Now what was left of the Cybermen floated and twisted like interstellar driftwood, so many artificial satellites and false asteroids. Dead. Useless. Nothing but innumerable shattered pawns in the ultimate Chess game.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'Story of Your Life'
Author: TheBigCat
Rating: All Ages
Characters: The Doctor (Unspecified)
Words: 381

Why I'm Recommending this: There are multiple levels behind the reason why. Let's keep things simple, and stick to the surface layer: I love it, and it's clever. It is, quite frankly, scary, and (strangely enough, given that we're all involved in a sci-fi fandom) remarkably realistic. For, in the end, how do we know that this isn't true?

Summary: You’re dying and there’s no way I can help you, so please- wake up.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'Love a Tomb'
Author: johne
Rating: All Ages
Characters: River Song, Amy Pond
Words: 1,001

Why I'm Recommending this: I just read this a couple minutes ago when it came through the Teaspoon queue, and I loved it! It's a fun little bit of excitement, danger, and humor. And the character voices are spot-on.

Summary: Amy accompanies River on a typical workday.

Read it here.

Title: 'Cataclysmic Variables'
Author: IrishVampire13
Rating: Teen
Characters: Eleventh Doctor, Clara Oswald, the Master (Roberts version), Mr. Clever
Words: 19,201

Why I'm Recommending this: I'm, frankly, embarrassed to rec anything of mine. I feel like I'm unnecessarily bragging, and that makes me uncomfortable. But this story is my pride and joy.

Summary: It was never going to be an ordinary day.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'Teacher'
Author: Thriaemis
Rating: All Ages
Characters: Twelfth Doctor
Words: 801

Why I'm Recommending this: 'Heaven Sent' is my absolute favorite episode of the latest season. And this fic gets into the Doctor's head very effectively. It is just as scary and beautiful as I found the episode itself to be.

Summary: He punches again and screams as his index finger snaps. No problem, keep going. He punches again and thinks of her face, with those eyes and the never giving up. He will do this for her, as many times as he has to. Somewhere along the line, he forgets what she taught him.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Okay, my first rec focused on the humor of our delightful fandom. My second leaned toward its capacity for sheer beauty. Now...let's take things in a different direction, the other reason I love Doctor Who so much: The fact that it can scare the living daylights out of you.

Title: 'Blood Countess'
Author: Joseph Q Publique
Rating: All Ages (I personally think it should be rated higher, though, due to scary imagery.)
Characters: The Doctor (unspecified)
Words: 102

Why I'm Recommending this: Because it packs one hell of a (terrifying) punch in very, very few words. It flawlessly showcases the potential of a drabble to pull you in and leave you gasping.

Summary: Welcome to the castle. You'll never leave.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Title: 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'
Author: betawho
Rating: All Ages
Characters: River Song, Clara Oswald, the Second, Seventh, and Twelfth Doctors, the TARDIS
Words: 223

Why I'm Recommending this: Because it is cute, sweet Christmas fun. I wish the BBC could make this happen; it is priceless!

Summary: The Doctor has always been a bit musical, but never like this.

Read it here.

Enjoy. :) ♥

Hello all!

Just like last year I wanted to open the community up for recommendations during our holiday break.

Through December 20th through January 11th, I'm asking all of my members to RECOMMEND me your favorite Doctor Who, Sarah Jane and Torchwood stories! It can be something you wrote, something someone else wrote, or something really old that you love, or something that you wrote that has never gotten that much attention but you love it anyway. Just make a post like you normally do to the community and link back to the stories!

The contests will resume on January 11th of 2016. Happy fic reccing! Give us something good to read this cold winter. And enjoy the Doctor Who Christmas special coming up!
