Title: Ice
Rating: G
Genre: Angst
Word Count: 268
Character: Amy Pond
Warnings: None
Spoilers: A Good Man Goes to War
Summary: Coming back instantly, tearing through every fibre of her essence, it's merciless, unforgiving in its presence.
-o-
She can remember the cold that had seeped right through her core when Melody - when that flesh thing, she reminds herself - had literally melted in her hands. The ice had shot down her spine, through her skin and into her blood, and it had felt disgusting.
The horror associated with it had been revolting, a sensation she knows she never wants to experience again.
Building up in her very being, the terror had used the cold like a missile, guiding it to every inch of her body so all she had felt was pain. Physically, there had been nothing wrong with her, but mentally, numbness had taken over, and all she had felt was that sense of being frozen.
Watching the TARDIS leave now, seeing her only chance of getting her baby back vanish without warning, she can't help but wonder if she'd ever actually gotten rid of that ice in the first place. Coming back instantly, tearing through every fibre of her essence, it's merciless, unforgiving in its presence.
It's making her feel too cold again, is keeping her from the memories of joy and happiness; removing all memory of warmth.
Drawing in a deep breath to try and settle her nerves, she turns to the only other person in the room who seems to have answers. Trying to ignore the coldness in her flesh, she wills herself to be strong as she faces down the woman that is River Song.
She wants to try and regain control, get some heat back into her system, and not feel cold anymore.
More than anything, she wants to burn.
