“Listen Doctor... Listen, listen, listen.” hissed the Master, kneeling before the Doctor who was currently on his hands and knees, shoulders hunched and hands balled into fists. The Master raised his shaking hands, roughly grasping the Doctor's face, fingertips digging into the others temples. The drumming echoed around the Doctor's mind, rattling his brain and spinning his memories. So loud... echoing... oh it hurts. Oh how it burns. He sucked in a breath, his eyes squeezing shut, his teeth clenching together. His hands slipped further into the churned ground, the smell of smoke filling his lungs and the metallic taste of melting metal coating their lips.
“Can you feel it Doctor?” breathed the Master. The Doctor could feel the grip loosening, the drumming nothing more than a distant sound in his mind as the telepathic connection lessened, yet never quite left. So quiet. It's still there... I can feel it. “Can you feel it there Doctor, at the back of your mind, that quiet little sound...”
The Doctor shuddered, daring not to open his eyes. The Master's skin burned against his, he could feel his fingers lace through his hair, his fingertips tapping against his scull, that horrible noise coming back with a vengeance. He tried to pull away, his shoulders moving, his body snaking slightly and his fingers curling deep into the dusty ground. His hearts pounded heavily in his chest. It burns... His body shook, the Master's fingers curling in his hair, digging his painfully into his scalp. He struggled slightly, the Master growling as he snapped, “Do... You... Feel IT!”
The connection was broken in a flash, the Doctor's brown eyes wide open as he pushed away from the Master, his chest heaving as he scrambled backwards resting back on his right hand, the other shielding his eyes from the searing heat and blinding light from the blaze behind them. His brown eyes watched the other. Maddened... cold... lonely. The Doctor could feel that hideous knotting feeling start to form in the pit of his stomach as he breathed in the air, the metal tang burning his throat. The Master stayed crouched, head in his hands.
I'm so hungry... his hands reached into his hair, ruffling it madly, his head twitching madly to the left, his fingers digging into his scalp. A strangled moan left his lips, his head tilting, looking blindly up into the darkened sky, breathing in the soiled air. The Doctor paused before saying, “What do you see... tell me what you see.”
“The sky Doctor... look up... look up and you will see! See the sky burning yellow as the Universe crumbles. Oh Doctor I have waited so long for this day... For this day the world will fall.”
A/N: So sorry this went over by 9 words :( forgive me! I hope you enjoyed it though!
