<3 Thank you. Love Vastra as I do, Jenny's attitude to their relationship is the more complex and interesting one, imo. Unlike Vastra, she's quite emotionally tuned in to other people and aware of the distinctions that Victorian society makes when it passes judgment. Vastra regards that judgment with a kind of intellectual aloofness, and is not above manipulating society's expectations to her advantage. Jenny could never put on a veil and wait for people to prove themselves in her presence. She has to feel and react in the most honest way she can, given the unconventional nature of her life in Paternoster Row.
