Title: Never Waver, never let go
Rating: G (child friendly)
Genre: Biography
Word Count: 674 words
Pairings or Characters: One Weeping Angel, Amy Pond (Williams), Rory Williams (mentioned), The Doctor, and River Song
Spoilers: This article is a spoiler for the last sense of ‘The Angels take Manhattan’
Warnings: No warning, this is a child friend article.
Summary: This article contains what I think was running through Amy’s head as her husband (Rory) was taken back in time.
Additional Information: The lines of Amy, the Doctor, and River Song are untouched from the original script. All I did was write what Amy was thinking at that time and her motions.
He’s gone. He’s really gone now. Amy thought to herself. But he can’t be. My Rory isn’t gone! The angel got him and sent him away. I saw it! But it can’t be! I need my Rory. My Rory!
Amy stepped forwards towards the angel.
“Amy, what are you doing?” The Doctor asked, quickly.
He waited 2,000 years for me and what have I done? My Rory risks everything to make sure I’m safe.
“That gravestone, Rory’s, there’s room for one more name isn’t there?” Amy asked.
My Rory is my best friend. I can’t let him go. Not now, not ever.
“What are you talking about? Back away from the Angel. Come back to the TARDIS, we’ll figure something out.” The Doctor pleaded.
But this may be my only chance to even see Rory. My Rory, I can’t let go of him, ever.
“The Angel, would it send me back to the same time, to him?” Amy asked.
It was risky, but if I could see his stupid face again, it would be worth it.
“I don’t know. Nobody knows.”
I can’t forget my Rory. All the times he saved me and all the times his love never wavered. That is something I can’t let go of. The Doctor’s words rattled in her brain. Would the angel send me back to my Rory? Maybe it’s hopeless like the Doctor said. But I still need to try.
“But it’s my best shot, yeah?” Amy asked.
I can’t let him go.
“No!” The Doctor shouted.
“Doctor, shut up!” River Song cried. “Yes, yes, it is!”
River, my daughter, I can’t leave her! But she is encouraging me. Is she alright with this? Will she be able to take care of the Doctor alone? Phhtt, what am I thinking, she’s his wife, why am I worrying?
“Amy-” The Doctor started.
“Well, then,” Amy said. “I just have to blink, right?”
“No!” The Doctor cried.
If I blink, just for a moment, I could be with my Rory. The man I can always trust. The man that will never leave my side even in my darkest hour.
“It’ll be fine,” Amy answered. “I know it will. I’ll be with him like I should be. Me and Rory together. Melody.”
I couldn’t leave her or the Doctor. The Doctor was my life ever since I was a little girl. He was my friend and somehow became my son-in-law.
“Stop it! Just, just, stop it!” The Doctor screamed.
My friend, my Doctor, with his box he could travel anywhere in the world. He could get lost, lose other friends, he could die if I’m not with him. River reached out and clutched her mother’s hand. River, my daughter, she will keep him alive. She will keep him safe.
“You look after him. And you be a good girl and you look after him.” Amy sniffed.
As River released her hand, Amy’s life tore in two. Her life with the Doctor and his Tardis was gone. She was ready for her new life with her Centurion.
“You are creating fixed time. I will never be able to see you again.” The Doctor said, with tears in his eyes.
Just like River said, the Doctor is like a small child. He won’t let go of people. I was his family and now I have to make the hardest decision anyone has ever had to make. But as much as I love my mad man in a box, I love my Rory more.
“I’ll be fine. I’ll be with him.” Amy cried.
I’ll be with him, my Rory. I will never release him from my grasp. My Rory has done so much for me already and I love him. My love for him is what tears me away from you, Doctor.
“Amy. Please. Just come back into the TARDIS, Come along, Pond. Please.” The Doctor pleaded for the last time.
I’m sorry Doctor.
She turned around as quickly as she could.
“Raggedy Man, goodbye.” Amy sobbed.
In a quick flash of light, the Doctor’s face vanished.
