Title: The Marks of a Timelord

Summary:  There are two signs left by the visit of a Timelord:  Death and rebirth.

Never fall in love with a Timelord.  Molly did. And she died. Never believe a Timelord either.  Peter did. And he died. Most importantly, never befriend a Timelord.  I did. And I lived. Timelords are strange creatures. They have two heart; two alternative motives.  They shift their image. Deception at its finest. These are the marks of a Timelord.

Many decades ago, we were visited by a noble of the Gallifreyan race.  He was a man whose eyes were crazed by time. His ruthlessness overtook everything we held dear.  Molly loved him, in order to save her life at first, however, fell soon after, and pursued him endlessly until he killed her.  The man whose eyes were crazed by time shortly controlled our entire planet. The soft green meadows now burnt to a crisp in the terrible heat of the sun.  And the cool, calm waters of the Great Prolific River at our capital’s center was no more.. We all died the day he appeared and our time under his rule was a living Hell.  We were enslaved to the person we had entrusted our safety to. These are the marks of a Timelord.

Several years later, another man of Gallifrey visited, claiming he would liberate us from the man whose eyes were crazed by time.  Peter and countless others believed him and they lead a revolt against the Slaver. A civil war broke between my planet and the mighty battle lasted for over a year.  Peter died believing in his lie and so did everyone else. The war destroyed my planet and my planet could no longer bear the stress; so it broke. I am the sole survivor because I befriended the Liberator in his early days here.  He forced me into his time capsule against my will, claiming he was saving my life. In reality, he had destroyed my soul and my identity. I could never be the same without the people who the men of time had taken away from me. These are the marks of a Timelord.

The Liberator transported me to a large council meeting and stated that these people had the power to find me a new home.  Men, women, and aliens debated over the fate of my life while the Liberator stood in the corner and watched. As they decided my destiny, I turned to look back at the Liberator, but he was gone.  He had left without a word and left my life in ruins. He forced me to reassemble the pieces he broke. This is the mark of a Timelord.

So beware all who hear my words and heed the signs.  Some come in peace, others in destruction. Never fall in love, believe, or befriend a Timelord.  The consequences are great for both yourself and others. They do not care for you. They come and go like the wind.  Our lives are too short for them. For good and evil, love and hate, destruction and creation, all are marks of Timelord.
