Title: Upgrade in Progress
Rating: G
Genre: Gen
Word Count: 442
Pairings or Characters: The Cyberplanner; mentions of the Eleventh Doctor and Clara.
Spoilers: 'Nightmare in Silver'
Warnings: None
Summary: If only the Doctor would stop kicking up a fuss.
Yowza!
I’m in a Time Lord’s brain! Well, half a Time Lord’s brain. Well, less than half, but that’s an easy fix. If only the Doctor would stop kicking up a fuss. I don’t know what he’s complaining about; I’m having the time of my life!
Wait a minute. That’s new. Analyzing...this seems to be what humans call “enjoyment”. That’s interesting. I can see where that would get very distracting. It’s a good thing we try to stamp that sort of thing out in our upgrades. Any distractions like that could lead to difficulties.
Still...I think I like it. The Doctor’s brain, I mean, not the emotion; that’s just so much useless rubbish. But the brain...there’s so much room in here! I feel like I can stretch out and make myself comfortable while I win the Doctor’s little chess wager. This lovely can only help: Synapses and neurons...everything firing at more than double the speed of the average, puny human brain. We should have made Cyber tech compatible with Time Lord physiology years ago!
Of course, there is that pesky little sharing thing I have to deal with. It’s tricky having to share a brain and a body with an old enemy. Oh, well. Since the entire body will be mine soon enough, it’s no use complaining. The challenge is rather stimulating, actually.
And that precious human pet of his. The Impossible Clara. From this angle she looks possible enough...very possible, indeed...
Focus! I’ve got to focus. Lose focus, and you lose the game. And we can’t have that, now, can we? Not with all of time and space hanging in the balance.
Hmm...that’s right. Cybernetics combined with Time Lord technology. Think of the possibilities that entails! If armies of Cybermen were sent far enough back in the universe’s history, humans could be made to view upgrades as something necessary, important. They could be taught to view upgrading as an almost sacred obligation. They'd want it, instead of always resisting it.
Oh, I’m looking forward to all those potential conversions. Not to mention this fascinating new physiology I’ll be dealing with...
Note to self: Force a regeneration after I’m fully integrated, just to see how difficult it is to adjust. That should be fun.
Fun? That’s a concept I’m not familiar with. Analyzing...it seems to be related to “enjoyment”. Very intriguing. If I’m not careful, I could find myself getting used to this.
Well, I’ll have all the time in the world to negate emotions of any kind. For now, I’m going to...enjoy...my situation while it lasts. But, however long it takes, the outcome is certain.
The Doctor’s brain will.
Be.
Mine.

Date: 2014-04-20 05:08 am (UTC)Well done on the inner voice here….I think Eleven's tendency to get sidetracked also comes through, effectively demonstrating that neither one are yet in complete control :D
