This is just a gentle reminder that our "Crawl" drabble challenge is due tonight at 9 pm US central time. If we could get a couple more entries in, that would be great! We only have four so far.

I know I usually offer extensions but I'm afraid I can't for this one. I really need to put up the Special Challenge rules tonight because as some of you know I'm eight and a half months pregnant and going to have the baby soon. I'd rather not delay the Special Challenge when it goes up because you will have some time to work on it until the Winter Break.

So hopefully you guys can write some "Crawl" entries before tonight's deadline. I am willing to wait an hour or so for some last minute entries if needed. Happy writing! Look forward to the Special Challenge rule tonight after the voting post goes up.

Welcome to our Special Challenge! I was going to post this evening but I'm not sure I'll have time. You can start posting entries for this challenge TOMORROW please.

Because of my upcoming maternity leave, I am doing a Special Challenge where you will have more prompts and more time. After we vote for the entries of the Special Challenge, by poll, I will distribute banners and then we will go on our Winter Break. Winter Break will end January 8th, 2017.

First, the rules. All general rules of the community apply to this except for a few modifications, as stated below:

Prompt One: Picture Challenge

 photo london_side_street_1_zpsuq9mfuiu.png

Interpret the picture above any way you like in your fic. This prompt has a FREE WORD COUNT. One entry for this prompt per member.

Prompt Two: Quote Challenge

"The universe seems neither benign nor hostile, merely indifferent." - Carl Sagan

Interpret the quote above any way you like in your fic. 200 words or more. One entry for this prompt per member.

Prompt Three: Word Challenge

"Fusion"

Interpret that any way you like in your fic. 600 words or less. One entry for this prompt per member.

All prompts are due Monday December 5th, at 9 pm US central time. We will vote the entries for each prompt by poll through December 12th. Banners will come after winners are announced and the Winter Break will start then too.

PLEASE use the appropriate tags for the prompts.

Please ask any questions if you're unsure about any of the rules above. Otherwise, please think of this challenge as quite open! Thanks.

It's time to vote!

Please take the time to look over the following entries and vote for your favorite three: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (NO MORE, NO LESS). THERE IS NO VOTING FOR YOURSELF, and only members and watchers may vote.

Please follow the rules on our profile page, vote fairly and do not get sock puppets or your friends to vote for you. Do not ask for votes outside the community. Please leave your votes as a comment to this post. The votes are all screened. All members are encouraged to vote, even those who did not post an entry. Please help our community stay active by reading and voting!

Vote like so:

1st - B. title, author
2nd - A. title, author
3rd - C. title, author

You must use the letter, title, and author when voting. Please use all three; it's much easier to tally that way. My voting system is simple: first place gets 3 points, 2nd place gets 2 points, and 3rd places gets 1 point when added up at the end.

The entries:

A. Crawl Home Safely by [livejournal.com profile] roseglade

B. Crawling to the Rescue by [livejournal.com profile] matimae03

C. An Ape Must Crawl First by [livejournal.com profile] gallif_migrant

D. Time and Tide by [livejournal.com profile] locker_monster

E. Violet Eyes by [livejournal.com profile] paynesgrey

F. Non Sequitur by [livejournal.com profile] dancingdragon3

Voting will end on Monday September 19th at 9 p.m. Central US Time, or until we get enough votes. Winners will be announced the next day and then winning banners will be up some time within the next week. Please vote and leave comments for our authors!

Please, please, PLEASE, find time to vote. It's not required for authors to vote but it's really helpful to all the other participants that DO read and vote to have a fair chance. I know it's not mandatory (and I've been considering changing that) but I really hope that I can have enough faith in you guys for full participation of this contest that means entering (if inspired), reading, commenting and voting. It really helps the community stay alive. Thank you so much!
