Special Challenge 2016!

who_contestWelcome to our Special Challenge! I was going to post this evening but I'm not sure I'll have time. You can start posting entries for this challenge TOMORROW please.
Because of my upcoming maternity leave, I am doing a Special Challenge where you will have more prompts and more time. After we vote for the entries of the Special Challenge, by poll, I will distribute banners and then we will go on our Winter Break. Winter Break will end January 8th, 2017.
First, the rules. All general rules of the community apply to this except for a few modifications, as stated below:
Prompt One: Picture Challenge
Interpret the picture above any way you like in your fic. This prompt has a FREE WORD COUNT. One entry for this prompt per member.
Prompt Two: Quote Challenge
"The universe seems neither benign nor hostile, merely indifferent." - Carl Sagan
Interpret the quote above any way you like in your fic. 200 words or more. One entry for this prompt per member.
Prompt Three: Word Challenge
Interpret that any way you like in your fic. 600 words or less. One entry for this prompt per member.
All prompts are due Monday December 5th, at 9 pm US central time. We will vote the entries for each prompt by poll through December 12th. Banners will come after winners are announced and the Winter Break will start then too.
PLEASE use the appropriate tags for the prompts.
