Whenever he stepped into her, she felt a thrill of expectation. She couldn't wait to see where they would go next.

She would scan the Timestream, discarding Fixed Points – unless she needed to teach her errant Thief a lesson, which she was completely not above doing so – and other things that could be solved without his unique touch.

Then she would play the malfunctioning machine, and take her Thief and his companions to where they could do the most good at that particular time. Being the old lady that she was, she could get away with that and oh so much more.

And then? Came the fun part – waiting expectantly to see how he would fix this. How he would use her and her resources to be oh so terribly clever. She more than existed in those moments – she lived. She thrived.

Her Thief may be the one who the stories were sang about, but she was the one who got him to where he was needed the most.

And she was very, very good at her job.
