Title: Everywhere & Anywhere
Rating: PG
Word Count:
Character: Unnamed female companion
Summary: Her life before was so small, so insignificant.
Notes: I wanted to capture the wonder of travelling through time & space, so this is purposefully vague with hints of pretty every companion from new!Who.
She stands on the threshold, a solar breeze shifting her hair. Below her is nothing but star-filled space. Or is that above her? There's no up or down, just light year upon light year in every direction. She ought to feel small. Instead, she's a goddess with everywhere and every time at her fingertips.
It's liberating, standing so close to infinity. She flings her arms wide and leans her head back. Breathes it all in.
Everywhere. The entire universe at her disposal. A lifetime wouldn't be enough to cover its length and breath, the millions of planets. She's more than happy to try, though.
Yet there's more than space – she can travel through time, and that opens up even more opportunities. More choices. She can go back to the dawn or the end of it all. Watch stars be born and planets die.
It's terrifying.
It's exhilarating.
Her life before was so small, so insignificant. She'd not known how much until the whole of creation was spread out at her feet. She releases her breath and it feels like freedom itself. She laughs at the absurdity of it all, at the thrill of being so utterly carefree. At the sheer enormity of choice open to her.
"Where do you want to go?"
How can she answer that? Where does she start? She turns with a grin.
"Anywhere."
