Title: The Darkest Night
Rating: I would say G
Genre: introspection
Word Count: 237
Pairings or Characters: Amy Melody Pond, Madame Kovorian, The last Centurion mentioned Amy/Rory implied
Warnings and Spoilers: Angst, Spoilers for episode 6.07 A Good Man Goes to War
Summary: It was always Night in Space
It was always night in space. There were no suns on the asteroid to set apart day from night. Only sleep schedules, and that was what determined day from night. There was never a change in the dark outside, nothing but stars and starships as far as she could see. As Amy held her little girl, for the first and last time, she looked out of those windows at the night outside. She was so small, so beautiful. She wished this had happened different. She wanted nothing more than Rory here with her. She had nothing left to give her child, but as she held her, she told the little girl the story of her father. The man who waited two thousand years, guarding the Pandorica because of the love of the woman inside and never left her side, even risking death to save the box from a fire during World War II.
And Amy knew that her Rory, the Last Centurion, and her Doctor would be on the way, coming for her, and she knew that Rory would stop at nothing to bring their little girl back to them. “be very very brave Melody,” she whispered again as Madame Kovorian took her daughter and left her alone in the room. She turned back to the windows, tears in her eyes. It was always night in space, but today, this night was the darkest of them all.
