Episode Setting: A year after “A Good Man Goes To War”
Summary: “First, she will learn to crawl, then to kill.”
“Shh, it’s alright little one.” Gemini hushed as the baby tried to get out of it’s cradle. “Just one more test.”
Gemini hated lying to little Melody, but that was the job. Gemini smiled when Melody pushed herself up into a standing position. It was just the other day Melody had started to crawl. She was learning so fast.
“Good job sweetie!” She cheered. “You did it!”
Instantaneously, Melody fell on her bottom and wailed. Gemini gasped and dropped her clipboard. She ran over to her and carefully took Melody in her arms. It had been a long time since she had held a baby. After some rocking, Gemini got Melody to stop crying.
“It’s alright.” Gemini said, soothingly. “You’re going to be fine.”
Gemini rocked Melody in her arms and hummed her song.
“Hush.” Gemini touched Melody’s head with her hand. “Oh, you’re really hot. We’re going to have to get you to a Doctor.”
Melody cooed at her, as if she was asking a question.
“Yes, a Doctor and I have the perfect one in mind.” She carefully wrapped Melody in a blanket and started speedily walking through the hallways. “Be brave young Melody Pond. You’ll see your mother again.”
When Melody was first brought here from Demons Run, Gemini had been one of the scientists working on her. She had been commissioned by Kovarian herself and was sworn to obey only her. But there was one thing that Kovarian didn’t know. Her allegiance was already pledged to someone. A much nicer man.
Just as Gemini reached the end of the hallway, she stopped. There, in her way, stood the Madame of Evil herself. Gemini clenched her jaw and Kovarian frowned.
“I knew you were too good to be true.” Kovarian spat. “Trying to steal my baby for a special Doctor of yours?”
“She’s not yours to have and I’m not doing it just for him” Gemini uttered, angrily. “I doubt you even realize what you're doing to her. She’s only a baby! Her body can’t handle this stress and you know it. Just wait till the Doctor and her parents find her. They’ll make sure your death is slow and shockingly painful.”
“You realize many of the Doctor’s debtors have already lost their lives trying to recover that child. What makes you think you're any different?”
“I was a mother … once.” Gemini answered, bitterly. “Until someone stole my baby from me. I made them pay greatly for what they did. I will not let Amelia Pond suffer the same trauma I did.”
Suddenly, Gemini froze when Kovarian pulled the trigger from her hidden gun. The pain enveloped her as she fell to the ground. She struggled against Kovarian, but didn’t have the strength to keep Kovarian’s clutches off of Melody.
“The Doctor himself will make her suffer in time.” Kovarian picked up the crying Melody. “I am just helping it along.”
“W-What will y-you do to h-her?” Gemini stuttered.
“First, she will learn to crawl, then to kill. She will be his biggest mistake.”
Kovarian smiled down at Gemini and shot her again. She sighed at the dead intruder and started walking back to Melody’s room. Kovarian looked at the crying baby and hushed it.
“Time for bed, Melody. We have lots of work to do.”

Date: 2016-09-14 07:06 pm (UTC)Yeah, when I had finished my rough draft of this it was about 600 words, so I had to do a LOT of trimming. I'm really glad it turned out like this!
Really? I've never written for Kovarian before so I had to watch a lot of clips from Youtube to get her persona down.
