It's time to vote!

Please take the time to look over the following entries and vote for your favorite three: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (NO MORE, NO LESS). THERE IS NO VOTING FOR YOURSELF, and only members and watchers may vote.

Please follow the rules on our profile page, vote fairly and do not get sock puppets or your friends to vote for you. Do not ask for votes outside the community. Please leave your votes as a comment to this post. The votes are all screened. All members are encouraged to vote, even those who did not post an entry. Please help our community stay active by reading and voting!

Vote like so:

1st - B. title, author
2nd - A. title, author
3rd - C. title, author

You must use the letter, title, and author when voting. Please use all three; it's much easier to tally that way. My voting system is simple: first place gets 3 points, 2nd place gets 2 points, and 3rd places gets 1 point when added up at the end.

The entries:

A. 'Unseen/Unknown' by [livejournal.com profile] irishvampire13

B. Invisible Years by [livejournal.com profile] gallif_migrant

C. Your Move by [livejournal.com profile] mahmfic

D. Sometimes There Are Voices by [livejournal.com profile] a_phoenixdragon

E. King of Infinite Space by [livejournal.com profile] templeremus

F. It Started on Karn by [livejournal.com profile] jennytork

Voting will end on Monday December 22nd 9pm Central US time, or until we get enough votes. Winners will be announced the next day and then winning banners will be up some time within the next week. Please vote and leave comments for our authors!

Please, please, PLEASE, find time to vote. It's not required for authors to vote but it's really helpful to all the other participants that DO read and vote to have a fair chance. I know it's not mandatory (and I've been considering changing that) but I really hope that I can have enough faith in you guys for full participation of this contest that means entering (if inspired), reading, commenting and voting. It really helps the community stay alive. Thank you so much!

As you can see, we don't have another challenge after "Unseen" for I like to take a winter break every year for [livejournal.com profile] who_contest. With the holidays, things seem to get busy for everyone, so I figure it's best for a short hiatus.

Sometimes during the hiatus I do some low-key things like prompts or such to keep the community a little active, so this year I'm going to do something different.

Through December 15th through January 18th, I'm asking all of my members to RECOMMEND me your favorite Doctor Who, Sarah Jane and Torchwood stories! It can be something you wrote, something someone else wrote, or something really old that you love, or something that you wrote that has never gotten that much attention but you love it anyway. Just make a post like you normally do to the community and link back to the stories!

I think since it's a holiday season we can get in the spirit of gift giving. Share your favorites with everyone!

Don't forget to vote in the 'Unseen' challenge HERE.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Challenges resume January 19th, 2015.

Title: 'An Irksome Word And Task'
Author:
cryptile
Rating: All Ages
Characters: Shalka Doctor, Alison

Why I'm Reccing: Because even though I never saw Scream Of The Snalka, this Skalka Doctor fic still amazed me and touched my heart. It's got fabulous characterization for both the Shalka Doctor and the companion, and there's a slightly melacholy tone the whole way through.. And the last lie is heartbreaking.

Summary: The Doctor is getting increasingly irritated while at a party with Alison. All the while, the sky is growing dimmer.

[identity profile] gallif-migrant.livejournal.com
Rating: G
Genre: Angst; Drama
Word Count: 5368
Pairings or Characters: Morgaine; Merlin!Doctor; cameo by Eighth Doctor
Spoilers: none
Warnings:none
Summary: Reflections on mortality and Immortality, when the Doctor visits a dying Morgaine (takes place 20 years after "Battlefield")

Why I'm Recommending: You may find the author's name familiar. Leave your preconceptions at the door. Whatever her problems in TV writing, her pre-2005 fanfic is awesome. She was a rather famous fanfic writer in the wilderness years (the years between the cancellation of classic Who, and the reboot), when fanfic was about all Who fans had, (audios and novels aside). Her prose has a very poetic feel I like, and her affinity for Arturian legends is a plus. This fic, which takes place 20 years after Battlefield, shows the sacrifices that the Doctor has to make to fulfill destiny, and what that looks like to an outsider who's in the way.  Rudimentary knowledge of King Arthur's legends would help, but is not required.

Rating: G
Genre: Humor; Adventure
Word Count: 2067
Pairings or Characters: Iris Wildthyme
Spoilers: none
Warnings:none
Summary:  Iris Wildthyme ends up on a prison convoy, and faces off an evil canine mastermind. All cause of a stupid tresspassing charge.

Why I'm Recommending It: Because I had an absolute blast writing it, and I think people will have fun reading it (at least I hope so!).The story's a little zany, and seems like good comfy Christmas reading. Enjoy!

Title: Harry And The Tuesday Girl
Rating: T
Genre: Angst, Romance
Word Count: 7855 (Multi-chapter)
Pairings or Characters: Harry/OC woman; Sarah Jane Smith
Spoilers: none
Warnings:none
Summary:  He should know about nameless and eccentric by now.

Why i'm Reccomending This: Amy takes a somewhat cliche idea and gives it new life. Harry falls in love--but who is this mysterious woman? Amy, just by using human flaws, shows the inevitable ending to Harry's love--and by the end, you'll realize there was no other way.
